The Importance Of Nasal Breathing.

In our everyday life, it is essential we breathe through the nose. The mouth is not for breathing. The mouth is for eating and talking. The nose filters air that comes into the lungs. Nasal breathing allows the body to utilise Nitric oxide which plays a huge role in the opening of the airways & oxygen update in the blood.

In our everyday life, it is essential we breathe through the nose. The mouth is not for breathing. The mouth is for eating and talking. The nose filters air that comes into the lungs. Nasal breathing allows the body to utilise Nitric oxide which plays a huge role in the opening of the airways & oxygen update in the blood.

Mouth breathing signals to the body & brain that there is stress, putting the body in fight/flight also known as the Sympathetic nervous system state. Mouth breathing while sleeping can show in many ways. Snoring, not getting deep sleep, waking up with dry mouth, going to the toilet during the night. It is very important that we breathe through our noses especially when sleeping so the body can fully rest and recover. Something I have been using for the past while to help with my sleep is mouth tapes. I put these on while sleeping to ensure my mouth is closed. The difference to sleeping with them on vs of is huge.
